Banana Berry Smoothie
3The family’s version
- Banana
- Mixed berries
- Yogurt
- Granola topping
The Level 3 version
- 1 ripe banana
- 80 g strawberries or mixed berries
- 120 g smooth yogurt
- Splash of milk to adjust
- Commercial thickener if needed
Convert it
- Blend banana, berries, and yogurt until completely smooth — no seeds or fiber flecks visible.
- Strain through a fine sieve: berry seeds are exactly the kind of small hard particle Level 3 must not contain.
- Adjust thickness: a splash of milk thins it; a little thickener brings it back. Aim for a slow ribbon off the spoon.
- Run the syringe test at serving temperature, especially if it sat in the fridge — smoothies thicken as they chill.
- Skip the granola. For the family's glasses, top away.
EquipmentBlender, fine sieve, 10 mL syringe for testing
SLP tipNatural smoothies vary batch to batch with fruit ripeness — this is one to test every single time.
Before serving: run the spoon tilt and fork drip tests on the finished plate. Recipes guide you to a texture — only the test confirms it.
